The process to get started with WhatsApp for JioPhone is the same as other platforms. The post adds that users can easily record and send voice messages with a couple of taps. Similar to its app on the other platforms that WhatsApp is available on, all messages will be end-to-end encrypted. To click photos, it features a 2MP rear camera and a VGA selfie camera.With this new app, JioPhone users will be able to enjoy familiar features of WhatsApp which includes fast and reliable messaging, and send multimedia content such as photos and videos. It is backed by a 2,000mAh battery and provides VoLTE and VoWiFi connectivity along with Bluetooth, GPS and NFC.

Jio had earlier announced that JioPhone would support WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps, starting 15 August.
